I soldered up the 555 chained circuits into this splended box. Looking at the drawings from the Natural History Museum and the visit to the Cosmonauts exhibition, we have started experimenting with 3d paper sculptures, looking at different polyhedra and the number of faces to see where circuit elements can be positioned and accessed. For this unit we included a contact mic, meaning the player can scratch along with the beats, it also acts as a transducer when placed onto different surfaces. It will be interesting to see if we can incorporate a contact mic element in the final product, which makes the unit more tactile – man and machine!!
